Learn Greek at Axion

From your first words to confident communication
At Axion, we believe that learning Greek should be a rewarding,
practical and enjoyable experience. Our courses are designed to help
each student progress step by step, developing the confidence and
language skills needed for everyday, academic, social and professional
communication.

Our goal is to help you make Greek part of your life.

From complete beginners to advanced learners, we offer a structured learning path from A1 to C2, with programmes adapted to the age, needs and goals of each student.

A1 – Beginner
Children 8–12 | Teenagers & Adults
A1 is the starting point for learners with little or no previous knowledge of Greek. Students learn to use basic words, expressions and sentence structures and begin communicating in familiar everyday situations.

They learn to:

  • introduce themselves and others,
  • talk about family, friends, school and everyday life,
  • ask and answer simple questions,
  • provide basic personal information,
  • understand simple instructions and announcements,
  • communicate when shopping or using everyday services,
  • interact in familiar social, recreational and sporting situations,
  • read and write short, simple texts.

For children, learning is adapted to their age through interactive,
engaging and age-appropriate activities.

B1 – Intermediate
Teenagers & Adults

B1 marks an important step towards independent use of Greek. Students develop the ability to communicate about a wider range of subjects, express opinions and feelings, describe experiences and
narrate events.

They also learn to understand and produce longer texts, including
personal and formal messages, descriptions, letters and other everyday
forms of communication.

The goal is simple: to help students use Greek with greater independence
and confidence in real-life situations.

C1 – Advanced
Teenagers & Adults

C1 enables students to use Greek flexibly and effectively in social, academic and professional environments.

Students learn to understand demanding spoken and written texts, identify implied meaning and work with information from different
sources.

They develop the ability to summarise, analyse, organise and present information, while adapting their language to different contexts and communication goals.

A2 – Elementary
Teenagers & Adults

At A2, students move beyond the basics and begin communicating with greater confidence in familiar situations.
They develop the ability to understand and use everyday Greek related to
family, work, shopping, travel, entertainment and social life.
The focus is on building practical communication skills in both spoken
and written Greek, enabling students to manage common real-life
situations more independently.

B2 – Upper-Intermediate
Teenagers & Adults

At B2, students develop greater fluency, spontaneity and accuracy.
They can participate comfortably in conversations with native speakers and discuss a wide range of topics.

They learn to express, explain and support their opinions, take part in discussions and communicate effectively in more demanding situations.

At this level, Greek becomes a language students can use with confidence
rather than simply study.

C2 – Proficiency
Teenagers & Adults

C2 is the highest level of certified Greek language proficiency. Students develop a very high degree of accuracy, fluency, flexibility and confidence, enabling them to understand complex spoken and written language and communicate effectively in virtually any situation.

They can express sophisticated ideas, use a broad vocabulary and handle complex grammatical structures with confidence across social, academic and professional contexts.

Greek Language Certification

Prepare for the Greek Language Certificate

At Axion, students can prepare for the Greek Language Certification examinations of the Centre for the Greek Language.

Our preparation programmes focus on the skills required at each level and help students approach the examinations with knowledge, confidence and a clear understanding of what is expected.
A recognised Greek language certificate can be an important qualification for a variety of educational, professional and administrative purposes, depending on the level and the applicable requirements.

Why get certified?
Greek language certification may be useful for:

  • A2– Professional purposes and certain procedures relating to long-term
    residence.
  • B1– Procedures relating to the acquisition of Greek citizenship, subject to
    the applicable requirements.
  • B2 -Admission to or enrolment in a Greek university, where the relevant
regulations require or recognise the certification.
  • C1 – C2 -Employment in the Greek public sector, where the relevant level is required by the applicable announcement or procedure.

Requirements and the recognition of each level may change according to
current legislation and official requirements.

Your First Steps in Greek
Learning Greek should feel natural from the very beginning.
For beginner students, lessons may be conducted in English or French, depending on their linguistic background and individual needs. As their confidence grows, students gradually use more and more Greek in the classroom, developing the ability to understand, speak, read and write Greek in real-life situations.

At Axion, our goal is not simply to help you pass an exam!
